BAD STOPPosted by gwenyth on June 21, 2006 at 09:18:29:
okay so can someone give me a little tip here...i work loss prevention for wal-mart and had a bad stop where i listened to another associate that claimed a 17 yr old female was stealing something. my first mistake was listening to that associate b/c we have been always taught unless we see it ourself, we don't stop-that's my first mistake. what this girl did was come into the store w/ a video game, didn't go the service desk to return it (no door greeter for the pink sticker)and went to the electronics department. the subject then took a bag from behind the register and put the game into the bag. that's when the associate followed her up to the service desk, the whole time believing that the game was stolen b/c of what she just observed. so the associate called me to what she saw and gave me the detials. so i came to the service desk and after the refund went through and i apprehended the individual for what i thought was a legit fraudulent return. well come to find out, after the subject demanded that the tapes get reviewed, she did in fact come into the store w/ the game. so after letting the girl leave 15 minutes later, the mother comes into the store screaming and saying that she's suing wal-mart for false arrest and defimation of character. also may try to bring up some type of assult charges b/c of the fact that i did in fact place my hand on the females back while escorting her into our lp office. what can i expect...am i fired now (i did get sent home early that day)...how much will she get from wal-mart
