Got hurt at work now I'm fired

: I want to know what my husband can do, he was hurt back in December 2004, he works in construction, he was working in the street when a car struck him. His injuries didn't look bad but internally he was really hurt he messed up his back and had surgery he had medal plates of some sort (procedure is called a fusion) and he had a lot of therapy afterwards, now 2 yrs later he was released to go back to work but now he has no job, he wasn't fired but he calls and tells then he's ready but they always give him the run around and say "oh well Santos there's nothing now buddy but we'll call you" now he's working with another company but he still calls to see if there's anything with his prior job. Now he wants to know if theres anything he can do, he thinks theres discrimination against him since he was hurt with they're company,now he's not the only one that this has happend to in that same company, you think he can sue them?
